Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe, on the Caribbean coast<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The sea side of Basse-Terre: head for C\u00f4te-sous-le-Vent, for a spot of sea fishing, or snorkeling in a small cove and discovering the Cousteau reserve. Or, for the more experienced sailors, and sea conditions permitting, head for the archipelago of Les Saintes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C\u00f4te-sous-le-vent in the Caribbean Sea is very calm, making it accessible to occasional sailors for pleasure boating. The \u00eelets Pigeon, off Bouillante, offer numerous spots for snorkeling and discovering the seabed. Dolphins are often only a few miles from the coast.
For regular sailors, the Saintes archipelago is not far away, and arrival in the Baie des Saintes is a feast for the eyes.
