A loop in the mountain sports the most southerly of the Basse-Terre. You find two types of rain forests in Guadeloupe: xerophytic (dry sea) and mesophilic (wetter in the hills).
You start with a walk around old Creole gardens, and around the Houëlmont (site of the Soufriere Volcano Observatory). Then the trail takes you to the highest point, winds (687m), after passing beautiful steep paths and dull Great Arch.
The fresh air of the summit will reward you for your efforts and the view of the volcano "La Soufrière", Trois Rivières and Les Saintes are spectacular!
The return is a path but sometimes raid as a whole stock in typical coastal forest.
We provide you with cereal bars and a sandwich.
Meet at 9:00 am at the car park to the beach of Marina de Riviere Sens (Gourbeyre).
